Serenata Winds was formed in 1998 when it’s members were front of house stewards at Symphony Hall in Birmingham. On a shift one day, someone said ‘wouldn’t it be fun to form a quintet made up entirely of Symphony Hall stewards’ and here we are many many years later!

The Symphony Hall management team supported us so much in the first couple of years. We played many times front of house to entertain guest before concerts, including World leaders at the G8 summit as well as giving a Sunday afternoon recital in Symphony Hall.

The quintet have featured on BBC ‘Songs of Praise’
